Copper alloy bell weight with a handle. An inscription on the top of the handle states the weight, '4 lb' while the name of the maker is inscribed on the side of the handle, 'Herbert & Sons Ltd 6 & 7 West Smithfield'. The bottom of the weight appears to bear the stamp of an Inspector of Weights and Measures to show that it had been officially verified.
