'IBS SAINSBURY'S PROJECT DESCRIPTION'. Report on the SABRE system as a new method of reducing, and identifying, goods about to reach or have past their sell by dates.

SABRE (SAles Based REplenishment) was a computer system introduced in 1992 by Sainsbury's for ordering of stock to its branches. The system used sales figures derived from checkout scanning to calculate the level of stock and to anticipate future demand.
