Version six of a Link/EFTPOS agreement between Girobank plc, J Sainsbury plc, Link institutions, Link Interchange Network Limited and FTS members. Includes booklet entitled 'A Guide to the Link Shared Network'.
EFTPOS (Electronic Funds Transfer at Point of Sale), refers to the systems for the electronic transfer of money when customers pay with a credit or debit card. EFTPOS was introduced to Sainsbury's stores in October 1989 - initially only the Switch debit card was accepted by Sainsbury's, but from 1991 credit cards were also accepted.
