Depots were established at Bramshott (Hampshire), Saffron Walden (Essex), Fleckney (near Leicester), and Woolmer Green (Hertfordshire). These depots during the war replaced the depot at Blackfriars, London as a result of Blackfriars' vulnerability to enemy air attack, the limited supply of fuel, and Government restrictions on food movements.
