Queen's Silver Jubilee 1977 tea towel

Rectangular linen tea towel with a printed design in purple, blue, white and yellow commemorating the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, 1977. The design features an outer border of stylised flowers and wavy lines and an inner border of stylised leaves and scrolls incorporating motifs such as an orb, a crown, sceptres and a dove. The design frames a central inscription in white on a navy blue ground, '1952 - 1977 SILVER JUBILEE of Her Majesty THE QUEEN'.

This style of tea towel was sold in Sainsbury's branches during the jubilee year and there is a Sainsbury's price sticker on this example giving a price of 90p.
