'Sainsbury's masterclass' (cookery book)

This subfonds includes issues of 'Family' and 'Family Circle' magazines, and recipe cards and supplements issued with these magazines. Also includes magazines Living, Practical Hairstyling & Beauty, Practical Health & Slimming and Practical Parenting. Between 1961 and 1964 Sainsbury's published Family, a quarterly publication which it claimed was 'the first store-to-customer magazine in this country'. This was replaced by a supplement, Sainsbury's Family Supplement, in a new monthly magazine called Family Circle which was first published in October 1964. Although Family Circle was sold in other shops, the supplement was only available to Sainsbury's customers. Sainsbury's continued to publish a supplement in the magazine until 1986.
