Includes a report, a brochure, a presentation, booklets and press articles about the history of Shaw's and Shaw's in general e.g. copy of 'A Man and His Work', a biography of Maynard Alton Davis, founder of Brockton Public Market (1930) and 'Announcing the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Brockton Public Market, 1899 - 1924', a history of the Company

Also contains Annual reports, 1967 - 1968, 1970, 1972 - 1973, 1974, 1976 - 1980, 1982 and 1986, and reports to stockholders, 1958 - 1959, 1961, 1963 - 1964 and 1966. There is also a copy of 'Shaw's market basket news', April 1978 (vol. 9, no. 4), a staff magazine produced by Shaw's for its employees and a press release from Sainsbury's announcing its investment in Shaw's, 28 September 1983.

There is a document, 'Shaw's private label program guidelines' which aimed to provide marketers and buyers with guidelines on converting Shaw's products to the Shaw's own label packaging system. There is also a Management guide, which sets out the administrative structures and roles of individual departments within Shaw's, and two booklets about Shaw's distribution centres and offices.

Also includes a booklet containing a list of products stocked by Shaw's, 'Good things to eat not found at every grocery', [1914 - 1918], and a coffee label. There are also advertising broadsheets advertising special offers on products, 1989 - 2001, and promotional leaflets about products e.g. a leaflet about fruit baskets, floral arrangements and deli platters and a leaflet about hiring videos and video players.

Also contains a hand written note, 'Appraisal of property of John M Burgess to Maynard A Davis, 2 April 1888' which features of a list of the former's properties and their values.

There is also a letter from the National War Labor Board to Shaw's informing the Company that the Board could only approve an increase in wages for certain jobs as outlined in the Company's application dated 13 December 1943 (see SA/SHAW/1/28).
