Mrs Sarah J Hicks and her sister, Mrs S McCann worked in two of Sainsbury's branches in 1967. Mrs Hicks wrote to head office to complain about the linen wrap arounds women assistants had to wear. The Personnel Manager wrote to Mrs McCann and told her that Sainsbury's were looking into a new type of overall and thanked her for the letter.
