Scale model of Greenwich store

Scale model of Sainsbury's Greenwich peninsular store. The model sits in a wooden tray with a colourless perspex cover; a power supply cable leads out of the tray.

The model depicts the planned design for the store and surrounding landscaping including environmentally friendly features such as earth banked up the sides of the building, solar panels, wind turbines and skylights. It was probably created as part of Sainsbury's store development and consultation process.

A brushed steel plaque in the back right corner gives the maker's name, 'THORP MODEL MAKERS LIMITED', and contact details and the scale of the model.
