Geometric and stylised floral transfer-printed design under a colourless glaze. A raised inscription on the reverse includes the makers name, 'MINTON, HOLLINS & Co PATENT TILE WORKS STOKE ON TRENT'. This style of tile was used on the counters of early Sainsbury's showpiece branches such as Lewisham, Balham and Brondesbury.
