Video made for Sainsbury's Branch Operations Training Department.

The video was intended for new members of branch staff and management as part of induction. It covered: employer and employee responsibilities; safety in lifting techniques; safety on the shopfloor; and the dangers associated with branch equipment and machinery if not used correctly. There were trainer guidelines and quiz cards to accompany the video.

Contents:
1. A mock game show “Team Challenge” presented by Jeremy Beadle with Sainsbury’s staff. The ‘contestants’ were supposed to move a giant ball across the room. They are shown to be successful when they carry out the tasks in a considered and a safe manner, and to fail when they don’t do that.
2. “Somebody Else...Not Me.”. Dramatic story showing a member of staff in a rush to finish her shift so she can meet her boyfriend. She overloads a trolley and so drops a cream carton. In her rush, she doesn’t clean it up properly and another employee falls over as a result. Footage shows Bath Green Park store exterior.
3. “Safety is no accident”. Jeremy Beadle (out-of-vision) talks about safety issues and potential accidents that could occur in Sainsbury’s stores if people don’t work safely. The video shows staff enacting various accident risks in a store, such as climbing up racking, tripping and slipping hazards, unsafe manual handling, and not using equipment properly. Footage also shows equipment used in stores such as trolleys and band saws, and safety notices.
4. Conclusion, and still images showing hazards.

Duration 16 minutes (approximate). Produced for J Sainsbury by Wyvern Television.
