Account book detailing costs of staffing for: relief managers; managers and assistant managers; and butchers.

Includes: date; period; gross; firms insurance; bonuses; fares; board and lodging; nett paid; PAYE [Pay As You Earn tax]; SSA [Sainsbury's Staff Association]; SSPF; SPS; rents; insurance stamps and pensions. The figures are given either on a weekly basis or for each financial period (each financial year was divided into 13 periods).

All the figures are put under a particular account code - descriptions of the codes are included on most of the tables (eg the code S72/103 is for PAYE [Pay As You Earn tax]).

The tables often have a 'source' number which perhaps indicates the original account books from which the figures were transferred (no list of these source numbers has been found however).
