Photographs showing the recruitment of school leavers to join Sainsbury's at the company's head office.

Applicants were required to attend head office, fill in an application form, do an intelligence test, and were then interviewed. Successful applicants then underwent a medical examination and attended a meeting to fix the date when they were to start work and sign a statement to confirm they will obey the company's rules and regulations.

Some of the photographs are used in JS Journal August-September 1962 ("Juniors join J.S.")
