Compilation of television commercials for Texas Homecare. Some adverts are also included for closing day sales at Sankey Homecentre stores (Sankey was acquired by Texas Homecare’s then parent company Home Charm Group, and merged with the Texas Homecare chain).

Illustrations depict a suspension bridge made of enormous wall tiles, an enormous bedroom chest of drawers which forms a skyscraper and enormous bathroom fittings in a valley. With end caption “Head for the Big DIY Country. Texas Homecare. New stores now open at Henlow and Stevenage”.
15. ‘Big D.I.Y. Country’ advert for Texas Homecare during spring. Illustrations depict mountains made of rolls of wall covering, enormous lawn mowers, and huge items of furniture in the country. 20. ‘Big Price Cuts’ advert. Similar to 19 but promoting different products including Coloroll Swish wallpaper and Polyripple.

25. Advert for the ‘Big Texas Sale’. Begins “Head for the Big D.I.Y. Country”. Animation shows cars moving along an American freeway to a big city at night skyscrapers. Various products are promoted including bedside units and three drawer chests. End line “Head for the Big Texas Sale. It’s electrifying”.
26. Advert for the ‘Big Texas Sale’. Similar to 25 but different products promoted including Square Deal Stone Paint and five drawer chest.
27. Advert for the ‘Big Texas Sale’. Similar to 25 but promotes fitted kitchens and fitted bedrooms with 13.04% off “it’s like Texas paying your VAT”.
28. Advert for the ‘Big Texas Sale’. Similar to 25 but promotes ‘more reductions’ including garden furniture.
29. Countdown clock with caption only for “Summer Sale – Extra Bonus” advert. Reference TXL 915. Dated 15 July 1982. (This possibly doesn’t relate to the following advert – it looks like this was possibly recorded at a different time).
30. Advert for the ‘Big Texas Sale’. Similar to 25 (‘more reductions’ including garden furniture version) but with caption “Open Saturday and Bank Holiday Monday” at the end.
31. Advert for the closing down sale at Sankey Homecentre stores in Norwich, Clacton and Peterborough. Features footage of the exterior and interior of a Sankey Homecentre store.
