50 years on.....Can still vividly recall nearly everything about my arrival as a "Saturday student" to this newly opened store which ultimately became a full time job upon leaving school and a 7 year stay across 3 stores. Great memories and a real quality bunch of people all the way from the manager Mr. Curtis,little later John Sharp, Deputy Jjack Howe, Neil Ingles grocery.
So many good people:Tony Rowley,Tom the produce manager,Ken Jenkins,Reg Norton,Brenda the office manager,Ethna in produce.
This was a great introduction to the real working world,the business structure and organisation was so good at this time which enabled Sainsbury's to be the stand out in the industry.
