As detailed in Special Bulletin Management Team 427/88, from 4th January 1989 the bulletins followed a new format targeted either at the management team as a whole or any of the three new deputies though each bulletin would continue to be addressed to the manager who had to action the bulletin. Some branches however had just one or two deputies and in those the branch manager was responsible for ensuring the departmental managers actioned their bulletin. This meant that up to seven bulletins would be issued each day rather than six as in the past. A new Administration bulletin was included. The bulletins were to be filed in branches in a special six sectioned holder in or adjacent to the buffer area with Fresh Meat and Instore Bakery filed in the same holder.
The seven bulletins were:
Management Team (on white paper)
Grocery (pink) - to the Deputy Manager - Dry Goods, for action by the Shift Manager, Grocery Manager and Reception Manager.
Provisions (lilac) - to the Deputy Manager - Fresh Foods, for action by the Provision Manager
Produce (green) - to the Deputy Manager - Fresh Foods, for action by the Produce Manager
Meat (blue) - to the Deputy Manager - Fresh Foods, for action by the Meat Manager
In Store Bakery (buff) - to the Deputy Manager - Fresh Foods, for action by the In Store Bakery Manager
Administration (poppy) - to the Deputy Manager - Services, for action by the Customer Service Manager and Administration Manager.
