Four video tapes of footage of an evening dinner event held in Monte's restaurant/club in London with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver with Sainsbury’s staff tasting various Italian foods in advance of the launch of Sainsbury’s new Italian range. The event seems to have been a social event for Sainsbury’s staff (eg buyers?) involved in the development of products (the introduction refers to most of the attendees being involved in new product ranges).
It is unclear how the footage was intended to be used. Each tape is roughly around 30 minutes long.
This includes Jamie Oliver introducing each of the courses and talking about Italian foods and drinks that either were or could potentially be sold at Sainsbury’s, how these can be used in cooking, and how they could be promoted by Sainsbury’s. He also answers questions from the diners. Topics discussed include Italian cured meats, soups, pasta, cheeses, ice cream, how they can promote Italian food in stores, reasons for working with Sainsbury’s, and Italian restaurants.
It also includes a speech by Sara Weller [Marketing Director] introducing the evening, including references to the Blue Parrot Café range of children’s products, and about the new Italian range featuring products from different regions.
Other footage includes the diners eating and chatting, dishes being served, and the exterior of the venue.
