A Holy Bible, illustrated

A Holy Bible. It is not known if it belonged to a particular member of the family as there is nothing written inside it to identify it as such. The inside cover states:

'The Holy Bible, with the commentaries of scott and Henry.' It was published by J.G. Murdoch, 41 Castle Street, Holborn, London, E.C.

The Bible is leather bound with two brass clasps. There are no locks to the clasps. They are fixed onto brass corner details with stylised patterning present. The title of the book is recessed into the leather cover. The page edges have been given a gilt finish.
