Photograph by Douglas Glass, London W6 (reference 1 1584 1958). The photograph is one of a number of portraits taken by Douglas Glass of Sainsbury's directors (who were mostly Sainsbury's family members at that time). There are two slightly different versions of the print - an unmounted print with a glossy surface and a mounted print signed by Douglas Glass with a matte surface. Various other shots were taken during the photoshoot but only this picture (numbered 1) and one numbered 15 were developed into finished prints. Contact prints (of individual pictures) however are included with annotations (indicating where they could be cropped) for pictures numbered 1, 3, 6, 7, 10, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 (2 versions of number 20). There also were negatives, however these had heavily deteriorated with 'vinegar syndrome'.
