Video produced to inform Sainsbury's staff about developments in the company during the 1985-1986 financial year.

Contents:
1. Introduction and discussion of the financial results. Footage of results press release being printed and read by staff in a store, and London Stock Exchange. Two members of staff (bakery manager from Swansea and senior clerk from Nine Elms store) talk about the financial results. Sir John Sainsbury (chairman) and Sir Roy Griffiths (managing director) discuss the financial results and the employee report.
2. Discusses the development of new stores including Swansea store used as an example. Includes footage of the store exterior and interior, aerial footage from helicopter, footage of demolition of old building on site. Interview with Swansea branch manager. A map shows the development of stores. Gurth Hoyer Millar (director) is filmed and interviewed in a helicopter flying over Swansea discussing how they choose sites for new stores. Interview with branch computer installer about Swansea.
3. Discusses how the company stays ahead of the competition including new computer systems. Interview with Sir Roy Griffiths. Footage of computer being used in a Sainsbury's store and staff . Interview with Swansea store manager about the computer. Interview with confectionery buyer and footage of use of computer for ordering stock.
4. Discusses distribution improvements including new produce chamber at Basingstoke depot. Interview with Sir John Sainsbury. Footage from Basingstoke depot. Interview with shift manager, Basingstoke Depot.
5. Sir John Sainsbury concludes the programme with his thoughts on the year ahead.

Two additional tapes are also included in the file (in addition to duplicate copies of the main programme). One contains a roughly edited version of the programme. It is not clear what the other video (labelled 'Blackrod, Sainsbury Master Twenty') contains - it may be a duplicate.
