Recording of the second episode of "JSTV", a video magazine programme for Sainsbury’s staff featuring stories and news from around the company.

The video sleeve states that it was intended "to be shown in the staff canteen on the first available Monday over the lunch and supper break, then left in the video for other staff to watch if they are interested". Reply cards were supplied for feedback. It was presented by actors Mark Powley and Sian Martin.

2. Feature about the blending of Sainsbury’s Red Label Tea. Shows tea blender Derek at Sainsbury’s tea supplier testing and blending teas. He explains how they blend tea and why they do it.
3. "It's The Truth!" - entertaining facts about Sainsbury’s history, illustrated with cartoons.
4. Report about a community initiative by Jasmine Broome (customer service assistant at Kiln Lane, Epsom store) as a member of the Kingston Youth Action Group to improve relations between young people and the police, and reduce crime. Includes footage of a conference organized as part of the initiative.
5. "Noticeboard" – SSA [Sainsbury’s Staff Association] offers for reduced priced theatre tickets, attractions, music, and a discount from Allied Carpets.
6. Oral history feature about Sainsbury’s during the Second World War, with Sainsbury’s veterans (retired staff) and Lord Sainsbury of Drury Lane (Alan Sainsbury) talking about their memories of the war. Veterans featured are: Alf Earl (Head Butcher, Elmers End); Frank McManus (Bramshott Wartime Depot); Glynn Harrison (Relief Manager, Coventry); Laurie Holmes (Manager, East Grinstead). They discuss: rationing, Bramshott (Hampshire) emergency wartime depot, bombing of stores, being rescued from a bombed store, Alan Sainsbury being required to identify bodies of staff, setting up of East Grinstead branch in a church after the store was destroyed, courage of staff, VE day parties. Includes images of photographs and documents from the archive.
7. Brief news items (including Sainsbury’s 125th anniversary activities): 'Penny Back' schemes, with one district funding a Variety Club Sunshine Coach (minibus for trips by disabled children); a cookery event with Delia Smith (celebrity cook) and John Tovey (restaurateur) in aid of NCH Action for Children; Ken Dodd (comedian) and Clive Mantle (actor) visiting their local Sainsbury’s stores (Liverpool and Winterstoke Road, Bristol) in aid of NCH Action for Children; a replica of Drury Lane store with butter patting demonstration at Beckton Savacentre store; customer competition for 125 cars; a replica of a Sainsbury’s horse drawn cart at Winchester store; a child winning competition to design a birthday card for Sainsbury’s. Footage relating to all these activities is included.
