Television commercial (10 seconds) for Sainsbury's Bananas (down to 38p per lb).
The advertisement is one of a series of 10 second advertisements broadcast in September to November 1990 to promote various special offers. The advertisements are all on the theme of customers being able to afford a little 'extra' when they shop at Sainsbury's, with actors performing a brief sketch and hand-drawn backdrops to give a cartoon-like appearance. In this sketch a schoolgirl picks a banana from the fruit bowl - which has a whole tree of bananas in it.
The advert ends with the slogan "Good Food Costs Less at Sainsbury's". The advertisement appears to be one from the Autumn 1990 promotion which was broadcast in the week commencing 8 October 1990 (see Special Bulletin 302/90).
