Photographs of the new Sainsbury's branch at Chichester. The branch was the first of Sainsbury's stores to sell a range of non-food lines - soaps, detergents, polishes.

Some of the photographs feature in JS Journal November 1961.

Includes:
19-20: a pictorial map of the Chichester area by the shop entrance which was cut in granite, then painted and gilded at the shop entrance. It was designed and carved by John Skelton.
