Press release (copy) announcing Lord Sainsbury [Alan Sainsbury] has relinquished the Chairmanship of J. Sainsbury Ltd and J. Sainsbury (Properties) Ltd. The decision was made "in view of Lord Sainsbury's approaching 65th birthday and his many public duties". He will remain a Director, and has accepted the office of President of J. Sainsbury Ltd. Mr R.J. Sainsbury is the new Chairman. In addition Mr John Sainsbury has been appointed Vice Chairman and Mr G.C. Hoyer Millar has been appointed as an additional Director.
