Recording of a special Sainsbury's Business Television "news flash" programme for Sainsbury's staff (mainly store management teams) consisting of highlights from presentations by the board of Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd to City analysts at the Conference Forum, London on 18 October 2000. The programme was broadcast on 19 October 2000 by satellite to Sainsbury's stores, depots and offices.

Contents:
15:05: Introduction by unidentified narrator with clips of directors and attendees arriving.
15:29: Clips of presentations by directors. The highlights are arranged so that brief clips of each presentation are scattered throughout the programme, rather than one speaker following another in the order they were presumably given. The speakers and key subjects highlighted by the video are:
group finance director Roger Matthews introduces the presentations and reports on current sales and profits; marketing director Sara Weller about emphasising quality in marketing strategy, customer targeting through "clubs", Sainsbury'sOne mobile telephone service;
commercial director Stuart Mitchell about launch of Taste the Difference range, pasteurised eggs and cost reduction through CONI (Cost Of Net Issues);
retail director Robin Whitbread about statistical availability monitor (SAM) and "customer obsession";
e-commerce director Angela Megson about roll-out of home shopping service and Sainsbury's to You (internet shopping website), picking centre, and "Taste for Life" website and digital television venture with Carlton Television;
property director Ian Coull about creating value from property and J. Sainsbury Developments (JSD);
HR & IT director John Adshead about board changes and changes to senior management structure, development and training, and outsourcing IT services to Andersen Consulting;
supply chain director Martin White about supply chain review and renewal programme;
finance director Hamish Elvidge about efficiency and cost effectiveness improvements.
