The Journal was first published in 1946. In June 2006, the Journal won a Business Food and Drink Journalist Award for 'Retail In-house Magazine of the Year' (award sponsored by Right Choice, Britvic and PPA). From June 2013 the Journal was redesigned, with a smaller size, fewer pages, shorter features, matt-finish paper and a new lay-out. From this issue onwards, there will be ten issues per year rather than the previous six. Simultaneously, staff website mysainsburys.co.uk became bigger, with more exclusive content and news. From October 2013, the name of the journal changed from 'Sainsbury's Journal' to 'Our Journal', with the 'our' in 'Journal' highlighted.
