Border tiles with a narrow band of coloured turquoise glaze over a machine pressed relief abstract design and a wide band of coloured brown glaze over a flat base. There is a raised inscription on the reverse, 'M H & Co.' This is an example of the house style used on the walls of Sainsbury's branches from the 1890s to the late 1940s.
