Recording of a business television programme (titled onscreen "Sainsbury’s World Cup") for Sainsbury's staff (mainly store management teams) relating to Sainsbury’s sponsorship of the England national football team during the 1998 FIFA World Cup. The programme was broadcast on the "SMART" network (Sainsbury's Management and Retail Television) on 20 April 1998 by satellite to Sainsbury's stores, depots and offices. It was presented by John Leslie and Trish Adudu [television presenters] from an exhibition at the NEC (National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham).

The programme includes several brief reports and interviews relating to the World Cup. It is described on the video tape sleeve as "a light-hearted look at upcoming World Cup events in-store".

Contents:
1. Opening titles and introduction by presenters.
2. Interview with Trevor Brooking [football commentator, retired football player] about the importance of the World Cup.
3. Report on sports fashion, and how front-of-house staff may wear some of the clothes. Includes interview with Lou Wainewright (Fashion Show Producer).
4. “Video diary” with Woody of North Cheam store going to see behind the scenes of the filming (at Leyton Orient Football Club) of Sainsbury’s television commercial ["Transfers"] for the World Cup starring England footballer Paul Ince. Includes interview with Paul Ince.
5. Interview with Mark Lawrenson [football commentator, retired football player] about the food eaten by players.
6. Report about the football related food and non-food merchandise which will be on sale at Sainsbury’s stores. There will be a contest for the stores which sell the most products with World Cup medals.
7. Report about The Official England World Cup Medal Collection 1998 available from stores.
8. Report about a staff football competition for the World Cup including five-a-side games. Includes interview with Ray Stubbs [presenter of Grandstand sports television programme].
