Recording of a special business television programme for Sainsbury's staff (mainly store management teams) to present the Sainsbury's group year end financial results. The programme was broadcast live on the "SMART" network (Sainsbury's Management and Retail Television) on 6 May 1998 by satellite to Sainsbury's stores, depots and offices. It was presented by John Howard in the studio, joined by chairman Dino Adriano.

Discusses the company no longer having a member of the family in charge of the company as a historic moment but that it won't change the business, David and the Sainsbury family's continued involvement as shareholders.
3. Interview with Sir George Bull, new non-executive chairman. Discusses his role as a non-executive chairman to manage the board but not the day-to-day business of the company and how he will work with chief executive Dino Adriano; his style of business and development of the brand.
4. Interview with Dino Adriano, group chief executive. Discusses the effect of changes at the top of the company and how the company will evolve rather than dramatically change as a result.
5. Overview of the company's annual financial results.
6. Interviews with city (financial markets) analysts attending the annual results presentation giving their reactions on the company's financial results and the retirement of David Sainsbury.
7. Interview with Dino Adriano discussing the financial results and city analysts' reactions.
8. Report on the financial performance of Sainsbury's Supermarkets with commentary by Dino Adriano. Discusses recovery of the business meeting targets, increased sales, stock results, quality and choice of products with new and reformulated own brand products, Reward Card, relations with customers programmes, and focus on better sales performance. Includes footage of supermarkets including checkouts, warehouse, staff checking stocks, bakery, delicatessen counter, fresh fruit and vegetables department, various products and displays, Pet Club promotional material.

10. Report on performance of Homebase with David Bremner (chairman, Homebase and Shaw's). Discusses competitors, new distribution centre and stores, converting Texas Homecare stores to Homebase, stock turn (using less stock but achieving more sales), continuing developments introduced at Ewell store with new products including decorative products which the company is focussing on. Includes footage of Homebase store exterior and interiors including product displays.
11. Question from Mark Lawley (store manager, New Southgate Homebase) asking about recovering the company's market share from B&Q and the impact of the Texas Homecare integration, with response by Dino Adriano.
12. Report on performance of Savacentre with Ian Coull (chairman, Savacentre) live from Sydenham store. Discusses standstill in profits being due to effects of changes in the business, new store Leeds, new features such as the food bars (ready meal counters) 'Curry Kitchen' and 'Oriental Kitchen' being introduced. Includes footage of Leeds Savacentre store exterior, store interior, product displays including clothing, and new curry bar.
13. Report on performance of Shaw's (Sainsbury's USA business) with David Bremner (chairman, Homebase and Shaw's). Discusses difficulties in the Shaw's business with an employee strike, tough competitive conditions in Connecticut and low inflation/deflation in the US, emphasis on sales, reducing labour turnover, differing product ranges to reflect demographics in different places, and improving performance in Connecticut. Includes footage of interior of Shaw's store, delicatessen counter, fish counter, bakery counter, product displays, checkouts.
14. Question from Tiffany Burnidetto (Shaw's employee in Boston, USA) about Sainsbury's commitment to Shaw's, with response by Dino Adriano including how they will overcome difficulties in Connecticut.
