Thermistor thermometer

Battery operated, portable black and grey unit containing a reader dial with a needle and markings in degrees celsius from -35 to 20 on the front. The right side contains a control knob and a socket for a probe. The unit is used to measure the temperature of items being probed, and is held in a black synthetic carrying case. Although partially missing there is a sticker on the inside cover of the carrying case with brief instructions and the name of the device, 'Edale Thermist[or Thermometer]'.
