Portable grey and silver unit with a control knob and a reader dial with a needle and markings in degrees celsius from -10 to 40 on the front. There are three sockets at the top front of the main unit for probe attachments. The unit is used to measure the temperature of items being probed. The thermometer is held in a black synthetic carrying case with red lining and a black strap. Brief instructions and the name of the device, 'EDALE THERMISTOR THERMOMETER MODEL K' are inscribed on a sticker inside the case and a further inscription 'BASINGSTOKE DEPOT LABORATORY' is present on a white sticker on the outside.
