Appears to be a piece of portable equipment for measuring temperature. Probably for checking the temperature of food products. Consists of a metal unit labelled 'Thermophil' with 4 knobs and a reader dial with needle and markings in degrees fahrenheit and a metal probe in plastic casing attached by a length of electrical wire.
Unit contained in (mock?) leather case with carrying straps.
